According to Jewish humor site bangitout.com, this is an actual advertisement in the window of the Manhattan gourmet institution, Balducci's. I can't decide whether it's an intentional joke or not.
Yes, Happy Hanukkah to you, too! I'm glad I found your blog- I used to read all your scent-related posts on MUA (I was 'Emma').
The only reason I could read this as a joke is that Balducci's is in Manhattan, which has a huge secular Jewish population, a large portion of which patronizes Balducci's. So one would think they'd know that Ham isn't kosher, but that the secular Jews that shop at Balducci's wouldn't care. So they'd be advertising it for Chanukah in a kind of tongue-in-cheek manner.
I guess I just want to believe that Balducci's isn't *that* stupid. But apparently they are.

It's a hilarious picture, but if it was actually meant as a joke I'm not sure I'm finding it funny.
Happy Hanukkah! (It's not too late, is it?)
