In a conversation last night at the hotel bar, another blogger asked me what my cat was called.
"Saffron," I replied.
"Oh, so it is Saffron," she said.
"Yes," I replied, looking at her quizzically.
Then we both laughed because of course she thought I might have come up with a blog pseudonym for the cat, the way we do for our friends, colleagues, partners and institutions.

Hee. I assume that s/he isn't named after the daughter, on AbFab?
Well, only in part. Mostly it's because she's a very saffron colored tortie and because I'm interested in spices as Eastern imports. But "Saffie Sweetie Darling" is in there, somewhere, definitely.
